Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs.
Love does not delight in the evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. Where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. If you have been bestowed with the greatest gifts from God but do not have love, you have nothing.
If I speak in the tongues of men or angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:4-12.
If you read the above passage from the Bible, you will realize, it is in all actuality, the most complete definition, above all others.
Love does not envy, that is jealousy. It does not boast, it is not proud, that is conceit.
Love does not dishonor others and is not self-seeking; that is selfishness.
Love keep no records of wrong, because love forgives.
Love rejoices with the truth and is not deceitful which is selfishness.
If you have the greatest gifts but have no love, material wealth does not bring you love.
If I have all knowledge, that does not equal love.
Charity and hard work if not done out of love, mean nothing.
Love eliminates Conceit, Jealousy, Selfishness and elicits Forgiveness. Love one another. Love yourself. Love is shared and is given. Love is an action, not just a feeling.
Having love in your heart doesn’t just apply to romantic relationships. There are so many ways to give love to those around you.
Love is appreciation for your life, home, friends, family, nature, animals, mankind in general, mankind who are different than ourselves. Love is kind, love is acceptance, love is giving, love is nurturing, love is unwavering, love is all powerful. LOVE IS FROM GOD.
LOVE CANNOT EXIST WITH CONCEIT, JEALOUSY, UNFORGIVENESS AND SELFISHNESS.
